Win a chocolate hamper, £10 Amazon voucher or a massage

Hi everyone, I wanted to write this press release to tell you all about the sponsored walk that i'll be doing on Sunday 30th August 2015. I'm doing this walk to raise money for The Stroke Association which is an amazing charity. The charity was the only thing that I could turn to when my mum had two strokes and she didn't understand what had happened to her and why. Being able to go onto The Stroke Association website and get some information for my mum was invaluable for me and my family. It answered a lot of the questions that were going around in my mum's mind.

My mum suffered a TIA which is a mini stroke and unfortunately it wasn't diagnosed because the symptoms were very mild and temporary. She then went on to have another stroke just a few months later which left her paralyzed down the whole of her right side. She stayed in hospital for over a week, having to learn how to walk again and have several tests done. She now has scarring on her brain which causes her to have the same symptoms as a stroke every few days. So she basically gets a weak arm, she can no longer speak and she can't walk. These symptoms last several hours until she goes back to having full control of her speech and body again. She has to live with these after affects for the rest of her life because there is nothing they can do to stop it, she also has to take a lot of medication each and every day to prevent anymore strokes.

I know that thanks to money that was raised for The Stroke Association and the research that they did with this money, people who have had a TIA now get put on the medication straightaway. The medication reduces the risk by 80% of someone who has had a stroke going on to have another one, which is amazing. Without the money that was raised for this research, they wouldn't have found out that doing this can potentially prevent many people from having another stroke.

The Stroke Association does so much more than this to help people who have suffered a stroke. There are too many things to list here but without the money that is raised, there would be a lot of people not getting the help that they so desperately need. Anyone can suffer a stroke no matter what age and it can be devastating for the sufferer and also their family. My aim is to raise awareness and to raise money for The Stroke Association so they can continue to help people who have suffered and also to find new ways to prevent it.

I understand that there are many charities out there that need support but because this charity was there for me when I needed some information and there is stroke in my family history that goes way back, and I have to watch my mum living with the after affects, it's so important for me to support this charity. I have a fundraising page so people are able to sponsor me and as a thank you I will be offering three different prizes which you can win. Prize one will be a chocolate hamper, prize two will be a £10 Amazon voucher and prize three will be a massage. For a change to win one of these amazing prizes, visit my sponsor page and donate, even if it's £1 it all helps. Make sure that you write the word competition in the box that says leave a message and you fill in the box that asks for your name. Then send me an email with your name and address to kelzkids@live.co.uk making sure that you let me know that you have donated on my page. I will pick 1 winner for each of the three prizes and announce the winner in a video and let you know via email.

Please help me in raising awareness about stroke and help me to support the people who like my mum have suffered the horrible consequences of having a stroke.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my press release :-)
